Musk confirms that X is developing additional features such as game broadcasting and live shopping with Paris Hilton in order to entice customers. In an effort to attract more producers to its platform, the corporation is promising additional video capabilities.

Elon Musk is looking for additional video capabilities, such as game broadcasting and live purchasing, to help him turn X into an “everything app.” Twitter is experimenting with basic, Twitch-like game streaming capabilities, which are now available to X Premium its clients.

An engineer at X, Mark Kalman, published a video describing how Premium customers can set up game streaming from their accounts by linking Open Broadcaster Software (OBS) to their Twitter account via X Media Studio.

The new feature appears to support viewer comments in the streams, although it presently lacks the majority of other platforms’ creator-centric features. The company has also stated that it is working with Paris Hilton on a new shopping function. According to Variety, Hilton agreed to “create four original video content programs per year that include live-shopping features.”

Musk demonstrated the capability in a 54-minute Diablo IV live posted from an anonymous Twitter account with the handle @cyb3rgam3r420 on Sunday night. Musk later responded to the account, confirming that the feature was being tested.

Mark Kalman, an engineer at X, also released a video demonstrating how Premium customers can set up game streaming from their accounts by linking Open Broadcaster Software (OBS) to their Twitter account via X Media Studio.

X’s Partnership with Paris Hilton for Live ShoppingGame Streaming

For the time being, it is unclear how serious X is about courting streamers. The feature appears to permit viewer comments in streams, although it currently lacks the majority of the creator-centric features found on other platforms. However, it is one of the most recent examples of how X is relying on creators and new video features to attract more people to the platform.

Separately, the company announced a new agreement with Paris Hilton to begin experimenting with live shopping services. Hilton, according to Variety, has agreed to “create four original video content programs per year that include live-shopping features.”

X appears to be making concerted efforts to entice more people to join and re-join the platform by introducing new features.

It remains to be seen how the rumored features will play out when they are released. It’s also uncertain whether X’s infrastructure can keep up with additional live video features.

The firm has struggled with big live audio and video streams, notably those bolstered by Musk’s account, after laying off many of its site reliability experts last year.

The feed regularly collapsed when Florida Governor Ron DeSantis appeared in a Spaces conversation in May to announce a presidential run with Musk.

According to Walter Isaacson, Musk’s biographer, the problem stemmed from insecurity induced by a poorly planned migration of one of the company’s data centers. However, the difficulties do not appear to be totally rectified.

Musk attempted to livestream himself at the US-Mexico border last week, but the video feed unexpectedly cut out after roughly four minutes. According to New York Times reporter Ryan Mac, Musk was eventually able to restart the stream, but only after sending a panicked, company-wide email to all of X’s personnel. “Please fix this,” he requested.
